The worrying Obesity levels in children around the world, and particularly in the UK, is still rising at an alarming rate. This plus the growing interest from Young people to excel in sports, are the reasons I decided to try and make a small difference.
With limited offerings for young under the age of 16, Area 515 decided to offer weekly clubs to help accommodate the demand and help our young develop their Physical Literacy, as well as Movement, Strength and Power skills through circuits and game based learning.
Movement Skills = The interplay between Coordination, Balance and Mobility
5 – 12 YEAR OLD CLASS
F K A – Fit Kid Academy (5-12 years)
Fun and basic fitness knowledge to teach the kids the importance of being active. The children will be introduced to my 6 pillars of Strength – Lunge, Squat, Push, Pull, Rotate and Brace, without actually realising, as they will be incorporated within games/fun activities. The younger will focus on Physical Literacy as well as being introduced to Strength & Conditioning – Using Circuit based sessions, after games to warm up, we vary the 10 stations, making sure the sessions are varied and relevant. We also introduce them to lighter / smaller equipment that the older class use. We usually end with fitness games and relays – guaranteeing they leave tired but with a Huge smile on their face.
We not only want our superstars to experience and enjoy fitness, but also to learn.
Every few weeks I hold a masterclass. Where I show them a specific exercise ie The Squat.
I then give them handouts with points to learn and practice.The following week I ask them questions on the learnt exercise and once they have performed the exercise correctly, I hand out Certificates of Achievement. The superstars love this and can’t wait to take them into school for show and tell. We also share their achievements over all social media offerings, with parental consent.

A S C – Athletic Strength & Conditioning (5 -15 Year Olds)
Ideal for children looking for a balanced workout. This signature development program is comprised of movement skills, core conditioning, athletic strength training, Speed & Agility.
Based around 10 Station circuit comprising of a balanced collection of exercises, working all parts of the body. Each week will vary – therefore Children will not get bored with the same exercises – This keeps them motivated and curious week on week. As the Kids progress,we will look to introduce them to explosive power, linear and multi directional speed, deceleration, quickness and more.
Club is Once per week (55 Mins/class)

With everyones lives becoming far busier , spare time really is a luxury. To be able to combine your workout whilst taking your little superstar(s) to fitness – you can kill 2 birds with one stone!
This is an efficient way to boost activity levels for all, whilst fostering new bonds with your children. its a WIN/WIN situation.

When we, as parents, were growing up we were living outside running, climbing, rolling, jumping constantly, throughout the day. This does not happen with our children – add to this the increased fitness, physicality and commitment in today’s sports and i , as my peers do, believe our children’s bodies are not ‘built the way they should be’.
Just playing sports does not prepare our kids enough these days, as they are not as robust as they used to be from free play. Our vision is to improve Fundamental Movements, Strength and Physical Literacy. We aim to make individuals and teams Fitter, Faster and Stronger than they have ever been.
We currently operate a 6 week program – We turn up to your facility in plenty of time and set up our planned session. We would spend an hour each week, starting with a 15 min RAMP warm up, a solid 35-40 Min circuit (x3) and , and a gentle 5 Min cool down to finish off. Some of the stations will be based on our 6 pillars of Strength, Conditioning and Power, whilst the others will incorporate Speed, Agility, and relevant sport specific exercises.

CHELMSFORD YOUTH RFC
Chelmsford RFC U16 are current Essex Champions. They have benefited from S&C Pre season training for 4 years (2013 / 14 and 2016 / 17) & have been Essex Champions for those 4 years !!
This year we are continuing to concentrate on S&C and Speed & Agility Circuits for 30mins of their Wednesday evening training sessions. It is proving to be the way forward. The boys are Faster, Fitter and Stronger than ever before, and results from the start of the season are extremely positive.

CHELMSFORD ICE HOCKEY ACADEMY
First experience was a 5 week program designed for the academy ahead of the nationals which were in May 2018. We assisted them with their Off-Ice Fitness and Strength Workouts.
U15 and U13 finished 2ND & 3RD in Country !!
Our current program started November 2018 and scheduled to complete mid May 2019 – working with 80 kids and hopefully they will better their recent achievements !!
